Dior Matte and Luminous Hydrating Loose Powder

Say hello to a new favourite of mine, the Dior Matte and Luminous Hydrating Loose Powder (£33.50). My make up never feels complete without a dusting of powder to set it in place; it's an essential step in my make up routine and I never, ever skip it. On a recent browsing session in House of Fraser, this caught my eye and after trying it in store, I had to purchase it.

Used as a setting powder over the rest of my make up, this dreamy product feels so weightless on the skin and is oh so soft to the touch. It comes equipped with a powder puff, but I prefer to tip a small amount of the powder into the inside of the lid and use a fluffy face brush to lightly sweep over my face. Loose powders are known for being extremely messy and a bit of a nightmare to use, but the clever design of this packaging only allows a small amount to be dispensed so there's no waste. This is available in three shades, ranging from light to dark tones. I was advised to get the lightest shade (no surprises there) and it suits my skin tone perfectly.

The finish of this is just beautiful; it blends with the skins natural skin tone to leave my complexion looking perfected and so flawless. It really does help to create a lovely, soft-focus finish that leaves my skin naturally matte with a healthy glow. I find that some mattifying powders can make the complexion look dry, flat and lifeless, but this powder contains particles that reflect light to make the skin look radiant. I've never used a powder like this before that feels so comfortable and fresh on my skin; it doesn’t cake one bit and keeps shine under control too.

The price is a little off putting, but you only need a small amount and I can honestly see this lasting me forever. It's not the most practical powder to carry around for touch ups either, but I still adore the packaging and I love the results!
